In DuNoon, the average income of a household is less than R5000, and therefore, school costs can be too much of a burden for parents. Attending school and gaining knowledge will provide the youth with the tools in order to build a future for themselves. It is important to keep children in school for this reason and in addition keep them from the streets and the temptations that these circumstances can offer such as drugs, crimes and underage sexual favours.

The Youth Academy is not only created for having fun and playing soccer, we find the wellbeing and the development of the children also very important. Therefore, we created the campaign ‘Adopt a child’. This campaign allows you to ‘adopt’ a child by sponsoring them, which includes providing them with school needs such as stationary, uniforms, textbooks and the actual school fees.

Besides providing them with the opportunity to get an education, the campaign also provides them with the following;

  • Children become a member of the Youth Academy football club
  • Local football association membership
  • SA Football Association Registration as a minor playing under Dunoon LFA including official ID card for league matches
  • After school Monday – Friday coaching
  • Soccer shirt, shorts, socks
  • Soccer boots
  • Practice ball and water bottle
  • Participation in minimum 10 weekend league matches
